#365Insects 72: #Calopteron terminale (Say, 1833)

After feeding on other arthropods under the bark of dead or dying trees, larvae of the End Band Net-wing Beetles have been reported to emerge en masse to pupate gregariously in circles radiating out from a single emergence hole in the tree. It’s thought male pheromones may play a role in this behaviour, but there’s still much to learn. (at University of Guelph)
