#365Insects 37: #Gelastocoris oculatus (Fabricius, 1798)
I’m not sure if there’s a group of true bugs that I like more than Toad Bugs. These little bugs live along the muddy edges of streams, ponds, and lakes, hop around like toads, and even kind of look like tiny six-legged amphibians. This Big-eyed Toad Bug is an exquisite orange, but colours can vary all the way to sandy reds, mossy greens, and even glossy black in this species, presumably depending on the kind of local habitat they’re found in.
