#365Insects 31: #Cupes capitatus Fabricius, 1801

Continuing with the evolutionary throwbacks, this Reticulated Beetle is itself near the base of the beetle tree of life. The only species in its genus and 1 of only 30 species in the entire family, we still know very little about their lifestyle and development, despite their importance for understanding the evolutionary history of the most diverse group of organisms on Earth.
