Anthropocene “amber” inclusions! These flies, trapped in the packaging tape from a box of Snickers chocolate bars, were brought in today by a labmate. As far as we can tell they’re #Piophilidae (commonly called cheese skippers), and likely #Piophila casei L. Interesting to think of the fossils we may help leave behind for future palaeoentomologists to shift through and piece together. (at University of Guelph Insect Collection)
